Privacy Policy.

Effective October 19, 2026

You can take the quiz and see your result without sending us your answers. Contributing to our analysis is optional.

Your browser and share cards

Completed quiz answers and the quiz version are saved in your browser so you can return to your result. They stay until you retake the quiz, clear site data, or return after an incompatible quiz update. Anyone using the same browser profile may see that result. Age, sex, consent selections, card names, and photos are not saved with these answers.

Cards are generated in your browser. Entering an @handle and pressing Enter or leaving the card field sends the handle and connection information, including your IP address, to Unavatar to retrieve a public profile photo. Quiz answers are not sent to Unavatar. Use a plain name or leave the field blank to avoid that lookup. Card details remain in page memory; downloaded cards remain wherever you save them.

Session storage remembers navigation and scroll position. If you contribute, local storage also holds random identifiers that support submission retries and let you delete your contribution from this browser. Clearing storage removes these identifiers but does not delete a submitted contribution.

Optional contributions

Contributing requires an age of 18 or older and explicit consent. We store your answers, age, optional sex assigned at birth, calculated stance, submission time, quiz and consent versions, a response identifier, and hashes of random browser and deletion tokens. Names, email addresses, handles, and card photos are not included. Our response table does not store IP addresses; infrastructure providers may process them in technical logs.

We use contributions to analyze response patterns and publish combined findings, including demographic comparisons and posts on X. Responses may reveal political or philosophical views; your consent covers storing and analyzing those responses. Skipping gives you the same result. We do not use responses for advertising or decisions about your eligibility, employment, or other significant interests.

Contributions are stored privately with Supabase in the United States (US East). We do not publish raw individual responses or provide them to outside research or commercial partners. Published findings combine or omit small groups where needed to reduce identification risk. Responses are not necessarily anonymous simply because names are absent.

Retention and deletion

Contributions expire after 365 days, are excluded from analysis when expired, and are deleted by daily cleanup. Service downtime can delay deletion until service resumes. Submission-limit counters expire after two days. Genuinely deidentified group findings may remain after individual responses are deleted.

To withdraw consent or request deletion, email help@paceorpause.com. You can also delete directly from your result page using the same browser. Contributions are not linked to email addresses; if you clear browser data, we may be unable to identify your response. Retaking the quiz does not delete a contribution. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing or findings that can no longer be linked to you.

We keep correspondence as needed to resolve requests and maintain a record of their resolution; editorial records may remain for reporting and accountability. Provider logs and any backups follow their applicable retention schedules. Any retained backup copy is restricted from ordinary use, and applicable deletions must be reapplied after recovery.

Other information and services

Vercel hosts and protects the website and may process IP addresses, URLs, request times, browser information, and security logs. If you contact us, we and our email provider process your message and contact details to respond. Public editorial profiles use names, roles, images, statements, and evidence from public sources or submissions.

Service providers process information to deliver these services. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect rights, or resolve legal claims. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries with different privacy laws. Contact us for information about applicable transfer safeguards.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use advertising pixels or audience-analytics tools. We do not track visitors across unrelated sites for advertising. The site does not respond to Do Not Track signals; there is no sale or advertising-sharing activity for Global Privacy Control to disable. There are no user accounts or email signup.

Your choices and rights

For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, email help@paceorpause.com. Include enough context to locate the information, but do not send identity documents unless requested. We may need proportionate verification and will respond within applicable legal deadlines.

Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, an appeal, or a complaint to your privacy regulator. Exceptions may protect legal obligations, security, and editorial expression. Where European or UK data-protection law applies, contributions rely on explicit consent; site security, correspondence, and editorial work rely on legitimate interests in operating and maintaining the publication, balanced against your rights, or legal obligations.

The site is not directed to children under 13, and contributions are restricted to adults. Contact us if a minor has submitted information so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate. We restrict access to contributions and use security safeguards, but no system can guarantee complete security.
